To reduce costs and emissions, it is not enough to have an efficient heat pump \u2013 the key is <strong>smart driving<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>What does model predictive control (MPC) bring?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A recent study from the project <strong>RES4BUILD <\/strong>(a research and innovation project funded by the EU under the Horizon 2020 programme) showed that <strong>model predictive control (MPC)<\/strong> can optimize the operation of the heat pump so that it consumes less electricity while maintaining thermal comfort.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The tested system combined <strong>solar panels<\/strong>, <strong>ground heat exchanger<\/strong> a <strong>air sources<\/strong>.
